Finally, school is done and over with! I'm off until June 6th, but I'm just taking fashion sketching, so I will still be able to post often. :) Hands down, this was the busiest and most stressful semester ever! In celebration of school being out, I finally got around to finish my Lemon Tie Dress!
I'm pretty pleased with the final product although I don't think I sewed the collar and facings correctly, but hey it works!
I never imagined that this pattern would be soo tricky for me to work with!
If you don't remember what the pattern I used looks like, here it is.
Since I've been off, I've made another dress (which I'll have to post soon), started on my birthday dress, and picked up knitting. It's been a pretty productive summer so far! I have a goal to make at least 8 dresses by August, so let's see if I can do it!
Allie
I just love the pattern..so pretty and so feminine.I also like your choice of fabric just right for the summer!
ReplyDeleteLovely dress! I adore the ruffles down the front!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress! I can't wait to see it on.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm so jealous about you being on holidays... 33 days!
Great job! I love the fabric too - very Stella McCartney :)
ReplyDeleteRuffles AND bows! Must be one of the prettiest summer frocks yet.
ReplyDeleteI just bought this pattern yesterday!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, just like the picture of the pattern envelope!
Greetings from Switzerland!

It's a knockout! I just love the fabric and style. Awesome job!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun pattern?! That dress turned out great--I'm a sucker for ruffles.
ReplyDeleteVery Cute! I used this same fabric for a summer wrap dress last year. Though, I like the pattern you chose much better! I feel like I'm wearing an apron when I put mine on. :-D
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! I'm desperate for this pattern! Any suggestions on where to find it? Any chance you want to sell your used pattern? :-)
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I bet you look like a doll in it. :)
ReplyDeleteUrban Rustic: Thank you! I also thought the fabric would be fun for summer! Let's just hope I don't melt in it, since temps in Texas can get up to 112F in the summer!
ReplyDeleteDebi: Thanks! Those ruffles must have taken me forever to make!
Reana Louise: Thanks! I can't wait to wear it! Weather here has been abnormally cool though :/ That's Texas weather for you though! 33 days?! aww no! :( I hope it goes by quick for you!
chairtyshopchic: Ohh thank you! I feel like my dress is nicer now haha (:
brocobelle: Thank you so much! (: I love ruffles and bows too!
Bettina: Aww! Thanks! Let me know how the dress turns out when you make it! I'd love to re-make this dress so I can attach the collar the proper way (: Good luck!
Gina: Thank you! That really means a lot! I really admire your sewing skills and hope I can get as good as you one day! (:
robinsnc: haha fun is an understatement -___- Thank you! I'm happy it turned out wearable lol
Michelle: Thanks! lol someone asked me if I was making an aprons when I purchased the fabric haha I'm sure your dress looks great!
Marissa: Thank you! Unfortunately, I would not imagine parting with any of my patterns. I suggest you google McCalls 6339 and usually stuff pops out in the shopping portion. I'm sure you can find it because I've already heard of two other bloggers having this same pattern. Good luck! (:
ReplyDeletezilredloth: Aww thanks! :)
Allie, this is gorgeous and will look so lovely on you!!! I look forward to seeing the 8 dresses you make!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie!! (: Eeek! Let's hope I can do it! lol
