First Day of October!

October has to be my favorite month of the year! It's when the weather finally starts to cool down and you also get to celebrate Halloween! Which brings me to make this announcement ----> I will create a series of simple & inexpensive DIY halloween costumes with step by step instructions. They will be posted each Sunday this month.

I'm thinking of creating a series of DIY projects for those who are interested in sewing or vintage lifestyle. I get asked for them often and am now ready to share! Let me know if there's something you'd like me to show you how to do.

In the meantime, here's what I wore to school today.

I kept it extremely simple with this 1960's shift dress and nude flats.

Dress - 1960's via tiny vintage shop in Houston
Flats - Steve Madden via T.J. Maxx
Brooch - late 50's/early 60's Trifari via random thrift store in Dallas

My favorite thing about this dress is the tie detail.

And of course, no look is complete without a brooch! I choose this daffodil because I once read that you should plant them in October. Please correct me if I am mistaken! This is also the only vintage Trifari piece I own. My boyfriend found it at the thrift store for a whopping $2!

    1. Laura, it is a nice plaid (: It's cotton too, so it's really soft and breathable!
