Back to School

School is back in full swing and there seems to be not enough time in the world. As a resolution for the semester, I decided to keep up with what I wear. I'm trying to define and perfect my personal style instead of being thrown into the VERY broad category of "vintage style".

I've realized that most of my vintage frocks are mid 1950's to mid 1960's. I'd love to add more clothing to my closet from those years. However, living in present times I'm also enamored with several of today's trends. Will I learn to balance them together? That's my goal! Thus, I shall keep up with outfit posts and sew items I'm likely to wear often. I usually end up with dress I don't wear all that often or never finish sewing the item.

Today I chose this mint and olive green striped 1960's dress I picked up at Buffalo Exchange. I wore it with a thrifted brown belt and my beloved 1930's bakelite & celluloid banana brooch.

  1. Cute outfit Alley! Thank you again for helping me with accessorizing my "date" outfit ;-) This is Sepia. I came in to Charming Charlie the latter part of August. I didn't take a picture of everything but received numerous compliments! Thank you, again! I will take a picture soon to show you.
